While I worked at Kronotiq Media, LLC under the title of Visuals Director, one of the many, many things I was responsible for entailed the design/art direction of CD covers. However, I was not able to use any of the work there for my portfolio, so I decided to go ahead and take the liberty of making my own set of matching pair of CD designs in order to showcase this skill.

That said, I decided to revist the same Apollonian gaskets and Sierpiński triangles that I would doodle a lot when I was about 17, and used these as the basis of this set. While Swallow Tales is not a real band, it would be neat if I could ever make my own music group some day.

I was approached by the owner of Premier Voice Works when he was sent a cease and desist letter from the legal representative of Shure Incorporated over the previous logo for Premier Voice Works. (As quoted from the letter from Shure's legal representation themselves, "Shure owns U.S Trademark Registration No. 2,163,185 ("the '185 registration) for microphones...)

From there, I had the design challenge of keeping the idea of a microphone in the logo, but working around the trademark mentioned in the cease and desist letter send to Premier Voice Works. I decided to abstract the logo in such a way that it would still be recognizable as a microphone, but would not break any existing Intellectual Property laws. While I also tried to keep in the spirit of the original logo design, I also made some additional tweaks with the typography and overall shape as well.

This was an assignment for wine bottle packaging I did towards the end of my graphic design coursework. The most important limiting factor was that the design needed to specifically be for a Floridian wine company, and the design needed to convey "Florida" in one way or another.
